Meet our newest Aged Care Specialist

Carmen Stadler‑Hanekom is an experienced aged‑care leader and Registered Nurse with more than a decade of clinical and managerial expertise across New Zealand’s care sector. 

Before joining Dovida, Carmen spent over six years as Director of Care at St Andrews Retirement Village, where she led clinical teams, strengthened care quality systems, and supported residents and whānau through some of the most important transitions in later life. Prior to that, she served as Clinical Manager, building a reputation for calm, confident leadership and a deep commitment to person‑centred care. 

Originally from South Africa, Carmen moved to New Zealand in 2009 and has since become a trusted voice in the aged‑care community. Her approach blends strong clinical knowledge with genuine compassion, ensuring families feel informed, supported, and empowered when navigating care options. She is also passionate about educating health professionals, helping those on the front line build the confidence and capability needed to support older people with dignity and respect. 

Based in the Bombay Hills, Carmen now leads Dovida’s Auckland East & South territory. She works closely with whānau, GPs, specialists, and care providers to ensure older people receive the right care at the right time — and that families feel guided every step of the way. 

Carmen brings warmth, steadiness, and a strong advocacy voice to her role. Her dedication to improving aged‑care experiences makes her an invaluable part of the Dovida team.
